 What you need to NO!OPENING HOURS Monday – Friday 8AM – 5PM Saturday - 8AM – 1PM MILEAGE CHARGES There are absolutely no mileage charges on any of our vehicles PAYMENTS AND DEPOSITS The estimated total of the hire plus a credit card or company cheque deposit (this is dependant on vehicle hired and criteria fulfilled during the insurance application) is payable at the commencement of hire. You can pay cash for the hire payment but your deposit will need to be paid by company cheque or credit card. You can reduce the deposit payable to taking out our Excess Waiver option – please ask for details LATE VEHICLE RETURN If you are late returning the vehicle the charges will apply that correlate to the potential financial loss Goldstar Self Drive will have to endure for late returns VEHICLE DELIVERY & COLLECTION We can arrange delivery and collection; however this service does require a fee. BREAKDOWNS We provide full breakdown cover in every rental agreement. If you are unfortunate enough to have a breakdown please telephone us day or night and we will arrange for immediate recovery through trusted breakdown companies. Also refer to the breakdown guide document in the glove box. WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE AN ACCIDENT? Call us ASAP in the event of any accident. We will put into place our customer accident damage limitation protocol to assist you. Also refer to the accident guide document in the glove box. INSURANCE Our insurance is organised through an internet based system which we have found minimises administration time significantly. It can also be updated at the touch of a button to add numerous extras such as named drivers. DRIVERS AGES AND INSURANCE The minimum age in all circumstances for the hire of minibuses is 25 and for all other vehicles there is a small premium
payable for all drivers under 23. DO I NEED A SPECIAL LICENCE TO HIRE A VAN? If you are hiring a vehicle in excess of 3500KG OR 7.5 Tonne+ and using it for business purposes, it is your responsibility to ensure that you have the appropriate Operators Licence. Please ask if you have any questions regarding licences and we will direct you to the relevant government information. TACHOGRAPHS The new European Regulation on drivers’ hours (Regulation (EC) No 561/2006) came into force on 11 April 2007. The new Regulation contains updated exemptions on the use of tachographs. This document states vehicles with between 10 and 17 seats used for the non-commercial carriage of passengers within Great Briton can be used without the use of a tachograph.
